This week’s headline plays are Tron Bolt at 0.7 units at $8 in the Caulfield Guineas and Global Goal at 2.5 units in the Flight Stakes. Bridal Waltz is our strongest Traders’ Best Bet at 3 units at $2.70 in Caulfield Race 5, while Barrengarry at 2.5 units at $3 heads the Rosehill card.

One of the great days of the Australian turf, Caulfield Guineas Day has arrived and we’re presented with a stacked card. Supported by a strong meeting at Rosehill, let’s cast our eye over the feature races and see what our traders like across the big day.

Caulfield Guineas – Caulfield – 1600m G1

Bit of a lacklustre Caulfield Guineas this year with Blind Raise taking on the might of Warwoven and the Golden Rose form. Warwoven a dominant favourite off what he did in the Rose, running a big number that was largely set up by a suicidal speed from Central Europe. He found the right spot in running to absorb that and was noticeably strong late, taking all honours. He’s either very good or those chasing him are not. I lean the former, but no way could I take 5/4 first time at Caulfield and first go at the mile.

Blind Raise would be my top pick. Loved what he did last start in the prelude, absorbing pressure around the bend and running away from them untouched. Gets every possible here from the draw, it’s just whether or not he is up to the Sydney colts. Tron Bolt is the only other horse I could entertain. I would have liked to see him do a little more in the Rose and the draw here makes it tough, but we’ve seen horses from this camp explode in their grand finals and this looks like his. Could make a marked jump at the mile and at $8 I’m happy to have him onside. Warwoven too short, Blind Raise about right and Tron Bolt slight overs so will have something on the Waller colt.

Toorak Handicap – Caulfield – 1600m G1

$6 the field for the Toorak. Lady Shenandoah we backed in the Rupert Clarke and I thought she was weak after being afforded every possible in the run. This is not a strong race but she does not look at her best and I cannot entertain. Regal Award very capable but has the capacity to overdo it. Sabaj was the horse that caught my attention third up at 1600m. Two complete barrier trials so far this prep but his work to the line the other day was very good and he gets conditions to suit now. I thought Salty Pearl was another set to peak. Owns a solid rating at this course and distance and gets a good map for Willo on the minimum. Finally, Feroce is one of mine and I have to have something on him largely for mental health purposes. With that said, he was good the other day coming again through the line and always runs solidly at the mile.

Rosehill

Gloaming Stakes – Rosehill – 1800m G3

Looked one of the better races of the day at Rosehill with some lightly raced likely types pressing their credentials for Derbys and Oaks. Proxima Dea unbeaten in three career starts and now comes here six weeks between runs out of a midway. No thank you. Genesis Runner on the quick back-up from last week where he looked all over a winner. Again could not possibly have, with his links to Stormy Marco and now meeting him worse at the weights.

The Rose form does look to the fore here, especially Cormier who was just run off his feet the other day but very good through the line. Draws well to settle much closer and I love Bullock sticking with him. Hillbilly Elegy was the other horse I think can make the step after winning well at Hawkesbury second up. Will roll forward and give a sight at a big price.

Rosehill Race 1 – Miss Spacegirl

Always looking to take on Felix Majestic who is allergic to the winning post, and this mare returned well hitting the line with intent and market support. Seven furlongs helps and just needs a good steer.

This race is crying out for new blood, and these are the two. Chuchichaschtli won arrogantly on debut beating Love Story who has since franked the form. Lafite may need further but will be hitting the line very strongly.

Market loved him resuming and I thought his run was very good against the tempo. Trialled super in the interim and in a strong race he’s the way I’ll play.

This week’s headline plays are Global Goal at 2.5 units at $3.20 in the Flight Stakes and Mr Miller at 0.4 units at $13 in the Epsom Handicap. Unleeshing is our strongest Traders’ Best Bet at 5 units at $2.00 in Randwick Race 5, while the Turnbull Stakes is a no-bet for our traders this week.

A great weekend of racing ahead with the time-honoured Epsom and Metropolitan handicaps, supported by the Flight Stakes, highlighting the card at Randwick. At a wet Flemington, the good horses look to stamp their spring credentials in the Turnbull and the Bart Cummings. Let’s run our eye over the key races and see if we can find some winners.

Epsom Handicap – Randwick – 1600m G1

Great betting race as these big handicaps usually are. Autumn Boy a deserved favourite after chasing home Sheza Alibi in the Makybe Diva. His record at a mile is very good, it’s just the draw that puts me off a little. Will need the gaps at the right time and at the price I’m willing to let him go. Well Written, absolutely no clue. The market is loving her early but I can’t get involved. Attica seems too short for mine. Looks set to peak and in the right camp but Autumn Boy has handled him each time they’ve met and I’m not convinced on a rain-affected track.

Mr Miller is my top seed. Forgetting the run at Newcastle where he jumped awkward and got back off a slow speed. Don’t love that he was inclined to lay in, but they’ve tinkered with the gear and from a good draw on the minimum I think he can only run well. Declichy Boulevard is an underrated mare who looks in the zone at the moment. The more rain the better for her and she maps sensational with no weight. God’s Window was the other that interested me off a sneaky good run resuming. Won second up last prep at a mile and will be on side.

Metropolitan – Randwick – 2400m G2

Aethelwulf stays in Sydney and heads up what has turned out to be a somewhat lacklustre Metropolitan for 2026. Too short for me at the back end of what has already been a long prep. He’s super progressive and will get every possible sitting behind The Euphrates, but I’m happy to look elsewhere. The Euphrates very good winning the other day off the long break and can only improve. Juja Kibo and Soul Of Spain were both gallant in chasing him and should be closer in price. Green Spaces I’m not sure is with us. Pinhole on the seven-day back-up and not hopeless. I don’t like the race but will have something small on Juja Kibo and Soul Of Spain.

Flight Stakes – Randwick – 1600m G1 – 3YO Fillies

Keen to get involved here. Global Goal has had the perfect preparation for this and screams miler. Would have her as favourite and just hoping Gibbons is on his game and knows she’s a filly that requires some riding to hit her top. In a small field I feel she’s close enough anyway and I think she’s the strongest filly. Love Bangkok Hottie who certainly can’t be discounted and I think she’ll run the mile out fine. Striking Alibi I’m putting in. She does things wrong for mine and although the market loved her the other day, I think she was safely held through the line and I couldn’t get near her price. De Armas is a very interesting runner over from NZ. Savaged the line first up at Warwick Farm but surely 1200m to 1600m is against her. Chipping in Global Goal.

Turnbull Stakes – Flemington – 2000m G1

The Makybe Diva is the natural lead-up to focus on. Sir Delius was exposed a little early and looked gone at the furlong but did come again through the line. 2000m suits but he did peak third up last prep and potentially they have left a little in the tank for the Cox Plate. Half Yours and She’s A Hustler come through the same race and I thought both were very good looking for further. Aeliana gets here third up ready to peak and is the different form. Are Zahrann and Saint George trying? Too many factors here, especially with the likelihood of a bottomless track. No bet.

Capitano was the pick of these at the trials, dragged out early before hitting the line smartly. Stasis equally good late and looks disrespected in early betting.

Genesis Runner looks hard to beat but I loved the way Hozumi attacked the line last start at Kembla. Will get back but will eat up a mile. Power Broker did a super job jumping from 1200m to 1500m last start and won with a leg in the air. Will roll forward and give a sight.

Car crash last start. Should have won with a better steer and savaged the line when out. No spoil with the price now but should be winning with no weight and a good draw.

This weekend’s headline plays are the Golden Rose at Rosehill with Tron Bolt, Central Europe and Stormy Marco as our speculative plays, and Extragalactic at $8 in the Manikato Stakes at Caulfield. Decorum is our strongest Traders’ Best Bet at 10 units at $1.90 in Rosehill Race 5.

A bumper weekend of racing with the Golden Rose highlighting Grand Final day from Rosehill. Then on Sunday Group 1 racing heads to Caulfield on a controversial 13-metre rail. Let’s preview the key races and see where our traders are eyeing early markets across a marathon weekend of wagering.

Golden Rose – Rosehill – 1400m G1

Sounds odd to say but I don’t think Guest House off running a track record is a great set-up. Brilliant on resumption winning the San Domenico, but he got an 11/10 steer on a hard fence day and now jumps from 1100m to 1400m off a four-week break. I couldn’t possibly take 5/4. Of course he can win and he’s in the right camp, but it just looks a price you have to take on.

Warwoven is taking up a lot of percentage and is another horse I can’t get as short. Went forward in the lead-up but got favours on a slow tempo and sprinted too sharp. I think that’s him, a horse with a short sharp sprint, and although he draws the right spot and maps well I think he might be putting up the white flag late. St Gotthard a great chance. Steamed in betting first up and just went down to one with race fitness. Seven furlongs suits, it’s just where he gets to from the draw. McDonald on board signals they think he’s their top seed. Under Focus very good in both runs this prep but not sure he has the class.

I’m looking at backing a few at longer odds here. Tron Bolt was a complete barrier trial first up and although he’s drawn poorly, I think they run along solidly enough to give him a chance. Central Europe is crying out for more ground and will be hitting the line hard. Stormy Marco good first up at 1400m with the big weight. Happy to spec these three in a race that looks more even than the market suggests.

Caulfield

Manikato Stakes – Caulfield – 1200m G1

Decent field here for the sprinters. The rail configuration is the biggest talking point, out to 13 metres, and no idea how it will play so monitor early, but you would think those on pace are advantaged. Beiwacht a logical choice as he finds the front here but drops from 1400m back to 1200m. There are horses with much better turns of foot in this race so I think his best chance is going out really hard and trying to hold them off. Not for me.

Extragalactic was sensational at Sandown and might have made it interesting with a cleaner getaway. 1200m is much better for her and she’s a sprinter on the up. Great each-way bet at the price with McDonald to do the steering. Oliveanotherday faces his toughest test and looks way too short off the last-start failure. Jury’s out on both Giga Kick and Jimmysstar. Napoleonic was an interesting runner. Good chasing Ninja first up in good time and trialled like a rocket recently. Can see him getting a nice run here and looking the winner at some stage.

Underwood Stakes – Caulfield – 1800m G1

The Memsie is the obvious lead-up to focus on, where Cosmic Crusader was steamed in betting and just given little hope with the run in transit back and wide. His work through the line was more than admirable and I want to find him here out to 1800m in the smaller field from a good draw. He’ll be in the right spot and has the sharper turn of foot to run down Lindermann, who comes out of a walking race in Sydney. All favours again for Lindermann but he has to do it in Melbourne.

Birdman really good hitting the line in the Memsie in good sections but the step from 1400m to 1800m may need one more run. Buckaroo loves this race but will be last off a slow speed. Cosmic Crusader for me and will bet late expecting a drift.

Great race. Lady Shenandoah looks a more than fair price and happy to be on. Out of the good form race first up and settles in the right spot here with the good jock. Regal Award trialling nicely and attracting smart money. Angel Capital is a cat so this is probably a race he bobs up in, but just cannot have. Evaporate with a tough draw. Feroce was the other horse that mapped to win. Surged again through the line first up and just had the tick-over trial since. Will get better than 20s I think on the day, which I’ll have something on.

Tea Rose Stakes – Randwick – 1400m G2 – 3YO Fillies

Been with Bangkok Hottie right the way through and I think her win in the Furious did all honours. Sat outside the lead and still too strong on the line, suggesting seven furlongs is no issue. Not sure how Chilly Girl is shorter than her. Gets map favours but has to be a risk at 1400m. Striking Alibi I’m against. Queens Gamble is absolutely airborne. Obviously this is a harder test but love that she’s had the 1400m lead-ups and she is the different form. Sumac not a 100s chance, only getting warm late first up in a slowly run race. Global Goal could very well be the Flight winner but this is a tune-up for the grand final. If she wins here, she starts very short in two weeks’ time. Making a book here with Bangkok Hottie, Queens Gamble and Sumac.

The Shorts – Randwick – 1100m G2

Looks a nice opportunity for Headwall to return to the winner’s stall after a great return chasing Tempted. Momentarily in traffic but great when out, hitting the line with real intent. Drawn a gate to settle that bit closer and think Lloyd will be on his game here. Joliestar and Ninja obviously very capable but where do they get to in the run. Spicy Martini trialled like a jet and may have gone to a new level last preparation. If the race is run to suit, I can see her unleashing down the middle of the track.

With the Valley out of play, the Moir Stakes shifts to Sandown and highlights this weekend’s racing across the country. At Randwick, the Chelmsford and Tramway highlight a competitive ten-race card. Let’s take a look at the feature races and all the best bets from the betr trading team.

Moir Stakes – Sandown – 1000m G1

Some rain around on the day makes the track and the pattern important. Natural Fling went like a jet in the Quezette running time, but I have to take it on here back in trip at weight for age. The wide draw isn’t so much a concern from the chute, but she surely has to use some pennies early depending on where they get to and just too short for me. Giga Kick trialled sensational but I don’t think 1000m is his go. Cavalry Girl jumps sharply in class and had every possible in her last few.

My Gladiola and Extragalactic are the clear two for me at the price. Extragalactic I’m convinced has a lot of talent and is trialling like a rocket. Can settle a little closer from the draw and has a wicked turn of foot. My Gladiola I would prefer on the dryer side but is similarly trialling well and maps to stalk from the draw. At double figures I think both are great bets and have them shorter.

Randwick

Furious Stakes – Randwick – 1200m G2 – 3YO Fillies

Second leg of the princess series for the fillies. Pembrey burnt the candle at both ends in the Silver Shadow and was dominant. Hard to knock but might have to sit outside the lead if Chilly Girl takes it up. Chilly Girl equally very good first up running down Blue Door. She was very strong late, so I think the 1200m holds no fears, she just has to transfer her form to Randwick. Chayan might prove to be the best horse here but gets a tough map conceding race fitness. Market watch. Bangkok Hottie very good from the back the other day. Write your own ticket the rest.

A race where the pattern looks important. I think the top two take up a lot of percentage so I’d wait to see how the track is playing, but could side with Chayan and Bangkok Hottie small.

Tramway Stakes – Randwick – 1400m G2

Idle Flyer very good in the Winx, picking up again late and super through the line. Second-up stats appeal and I think she lands on the back of the speed and looks the one. Private Eye goes forward from the draw and was good first up in Melbourne, just not getting any younger. Headley Grange from one a little sticky but trialling really well. Attica needs further. In the corner of Idle Flyer.

Tempted best horse in the race but 1000m and some map queries make taking the shorts scary. Roselyn’s Star has always been better suited at the short course in my opinion, and has trialled up super coming into this. Map advantage and I’m willing to find out if he’s up to these at the $9. Headwall airborne at the trials but gives them a start. Quite keen Roselyn’s Star here and think he has to start shorter.

Chelmsford Stakes – Randwick – 1600m G2

Tough race and not sure what to make of it with the fancies all coming through the Autumn Glow lead-up. Lindermann gets complete control after dropping off first up when riding the hot speed. Out to the mile an advantage but well enough found. Ceolwulf was good hitting the line first up. Usually a deeper prep animal but looks to have returned well. Fangirl I actually thought went well first up chasing the speed, which is not her go. Out to the mile on a good track are big ticks and she sports the SP profile from the lead-up. She’s the one I would lean towards but the comments from the trainer during the week do little to boost the confidence. This week’s headline play is the Group 1 Memsie Stakes at Caulfield, with Jimmysstar our primary selection at 1.6 units at $4.20 and Angel Capital the each way play at $8.00. Aethelwulf is our strongest Traders’ Best Bet at 10 units at $1.50 in Rosehill Race 3.

We head to the Heath on Saturday for an intriguing Memsie Stakes, whilst north of the border some of the more exciting three-year-olds are returning to the track in the San Domenico and the Up and Coming. Off the back of a much-needed winning week last week, let’s look to keep the momentum rolling as we analyse the key races and all the best bets from our betr traders.

Caulfield

Memsie Stakes – Caulfield – 1400m G1

Haven’t the draws made this an interesting race. Everything you want to be on has drawn awkward and likely have to go back, whilst those horses that look underdone get run of the race. Jimmysstar is the clear horse I want to find here. If he’s given a dig early, he could easily find the one-one or the back of a horse like Mr. Brightside and I think it’s just about race over. Loves this track and trip, gets the sting out of the ground and absolutely humming at the trials off the back of the Queensland winter campaign.

Cosmic Crusader flying and just toyed with them in both starts but will spot them a big start. Beiwacht and Treasurethemoment both snipped in early markets as they get control on the map but not for me. Angel Capital, if he can hold any kind of position he can bomb them late. High-rated race the Missile and nothing went right. Brightside looks gone and Autumn Boy surely not sharp enough at seven furlongs. Planet Red looks a big price but where does he get to. Backing Jimmysstar and making Angel Capital a winner also.

Rosehill

San Domenico Stakes – Rosehill – 1100m G3 – 3YOs

Good race for the good three-year-olds with several of them kicking off their spring campaigns. Blue Door heads the market off a good return when just collared by Chilly Girl in the shadows in the Rosebud. The one trial prior was likely the difference in her winning and losing but lost no admirers and every favour here at 1100m Rosehill on the bunny. Just short enough. The Slipper winner Guest House resumes off what have been two ok trials. Somewhat tricky map so the market tells the story with him. Warwoven I just don’t have an opinion of. Wild Atlantic on debut already $26 into $6 so the price is gone but has trialled superbly. Revengeance three trials revved up for this. Likely sits outside Blue Door and might be the stronger. The roughies all with claims, especially Half Pipe who went great last start. Very tricky race. Blue Door gets conditions to suit, just short enough for mine. Don’t want to get heavily involved but I’ll have something small on Revengeance who’s a course and distance winner and in the right camp to be running well here.

Up and Coming Stakes – Rosehill – 1300m G3 – 3YOs

Filthy here with Genesis Runner going up $15 all-in and off the map in the final field. Loved his run before going out and the latest trial was slick. Well weighted. Plagiarism still a maiden and limited for mine and Savagram had all favours on debut at Canterbury, albeit a nice win. Southend has talent but likely tough from the draw. Outspan I had something on at Caulfield and just got too far back in a muddling affair. He hit the line well and if he can execute from a good draw he’s a horse with a turn of foot. Will have something small on him at the price but do think Genesis Runner looks well placed.

Up and coming stayer who’s toyed with his opposition his past two. A drying track is in his favour, and he’ll be winning better races than this. Happy to take the shorts.

Following our money with him after he only got warm late first up. 1100m to 1500m is a shocking set-up but getting each-way odds in what is an awful race.

From the Trader’s Desk – Winx Stakes Day

This week’s headline play is the Group 1 Winx Stakes at Randwick, with Autumn Glow our primary selection at 5.5 units at $1.90. Gringotts is our each way play at $26 win and $4.20 place, while King of the Sea and Boniface are our strongest Traders’ Best Bets at 3 units apiece.

Randwick takes centre stage this weekend as the first Group 1 of the new season takes place with the running of the Winx Stakes. Supported by a strong undercard, let’s take a look at the key races and who our traders are targeting in early markets.

Feature Races

Winx Stakes – Randwick – 1400m G1

Good contest for the first Group 1 of the season. The market tells you it’s a match race between Autumn Glow and Sheza Alibi and it’s hard to argue, especially first up at 1400m. Autumn Glow comes off a failed run at 2000m last start, this suits her much better and the camp has been open in saying she’s forward. Gets the run of the race from the draw and looks hard to hold out. The $1.90 currently on offer looks enticing simply off her SP profile and the fact that I think she’s in front of Sheza Alibi in the run.

Sheza Alibi I think has the more upside of the two and is potentially more brilliant, but gate one is just horrid. Likely three or four back the paint and will need the gaps at the right time. Can see the market chipping at Beiwacht or Lindermann from a map perspective if on pace, with the latter having trialled particularly well. If there’s to be an upset, I think it could be Gringotts who has similarly trialled up enormous and is well suited at 1400m. Gets a great run from the draw and is an underrated galloper.

Silver Shadow Stakes – Randwick – 1200m G2 – 3YO Fillies

The three-year-old fillies line up here in the first leg of the princess series. Not a star-studded field in my opinion so looking to take on a few of those towards the pointy end of the market. Agrarian Girl boasts some nice form from her two-year-old campaign but looks a speedy type and vulnerable at six furlongs. Striking Alibi I have no idea what to make of having transferred stables from the west to Chris Waller. She won on debut at 60/1 then failed at $14 in the Karakatta. Trialled nice enough but I couldn’t possibly have. Pembrey draws awkward. Cherry Bombshell trialled nicely and up against the top liners. Love the way she went out with a win at this course and distance, but I don’t love the rider here. Bangkok Hottie looked the winner first up before potentially just giving out late. Comes on from that and the race fitness may be to her benefit. Global Goal very interesting. Out of this camp they are usually looking for further, but the Friendly Fire form reads ok and I liked her trials. $13 looks a good price to find out in a race that looks very open.

Toy Show Quality – Randwick – 1100m G3

Not much of a field this year for the sprinters with Apocalyptic the headline horse resuming from what was a lacklustre autumn campaign. She has trialled sharply for this, it’s just whether or not the 1100m is her go, but a small field and a bit of speed on paper does see her set up well. I can’t take the shorts. Savvy Hallie was the one to knock her off last prep, but she doesn’t get it all her own way on Saturday on the map. Prima Bella a question mark at 1100m. I’m happy to have something small on Karinska here who is likely needing further but sprinted every bit as well as Apocalyptic first up last prep. She’s moved nicely at the trials and in a small field I would not at all be surprised to see her sit off a hot speed and hit the line.

Scratched from an easier race at Hawkesbury on Thursday which is a nice pointer. Question marks on the form out of his maiden but had no right to win. Tough race here with a capacity field but think he has a bit of upside and happy to be on at double figures.

Resuming stayer who was very good in his first Australian prep without winning. Finds a weak BM race first up at the mile with McDonald going aboard.

Welcome back to betr’s From the Trader’s Desk. A slow start to our series last week unfortunately, but plenty of races to come this spring. Let’s take a look at this week’s feature races from across the country, the big bets we have laid early at betr, and who our traders think are worth a wager this weekend.

P.B. Lawrence Stakes – Caulfield – 1400m G2

Interesting contest, with Cosmic Crusader coming off a dominant win in the Bletchingly where he got up along the inside in the worst going and ran away from them. Out to 1400m can only be a tick and boasts race fitness over his rivals. Hard to beat no doubt but 6/4 seems rock bottom. Private Eye won this race last year first up but comes off just the one trial this time. Desert Lightning very good first up last campaign when wide at Mornington but may need the run. Feroce similar, just not sure where he gets to from that draw. Evaporate I thought could be the one ready to go here and gets map advantage in a race where I don’t think they’ll go too solid. Happy to play Evaporate.

Vain Stakes – Caulfield – 1100m G3 – 3YOs

Good field of now three-year-old colts and geldings resuming here and keen to bet into the race. Closer To Free happy to take on along with Hard Kick who was found out last start. Tornado Valley had a good two-year-old campaign that likely just tapered off having been up for so long. Thought he trialled the house down and gets every possible here from the draw to stalk the speed. Confederation looks the prototype improving three-year-old from this yard and thought he has moved well in both trials. Not in love with the draw but any money for him and I want to make him a winner. Outspan is very similar. I thought he was the horse who could make the leap at three and will be strong late here.

Quezette Stakes – Caulfield – 1100m G3 – 3YOs

Capacity field for the girls and we get to see the spruiked horse Natural Fling back at the races. Gone super in her jump outs and from this draw with D Lane happy to be in her corner. That Next Episode form looks a step above and expecting the market to circle her. Gapping Lara Antipova and Riverina Lulu who I think come through weak lead-ups. If they overdo it in front, Ghana’s Khan and Santa Barbara are the closers. Both exceptional hitting the line first up with things against. Happy to play both small with Natural Fling the primary bet.

Sydney

The Rosebud – Rosehill – 1100m Listed – 3YOs

Moving to Sydney and the Rosebud headlines a ten-race card. Super field assembled here. Blue Door heads the early market for Bjorn Baker resuming off one run in the Autumn where she got the better of The Next Episode in the Kindergarten. Super form profile and looks to have come back well with just the one public trial. Scared of her but happy to be against first up with the idea she might be vulnerable late. Central Europe has trialled outstanding and gets the connections of Waller/McDonald. 1100m possibly a little sharp for him but looks set for a big campaign. Castillo King enormous on debut and trialled in good fashion since but this much harder. Will get an idea of his ability here. Royal Exile interests me a lot from the draw. Ideally suited over further I think but if he stalks the speed he has the strength to finish over the top if they can utilise the draw. Chilly Girl no knocks and will be in the firing line on speed. Not awfully keen to bet but would be siding with Central Europe and small Royal Exile.

Only got warm late when squeezed for room at Randwick first up. Looking for more ground and suited by the smaller field.

Althoff all the rage and easy to see why, getting home in good splits on an inside day. I’m banking on Attica just being the superior animal here off what have been two exceptional trials. Early money suggests ready to run well and late in the day down the middle may be advantageous. Monitor the track pattern but Attica the one I want to be with.

Race of the Week

Missile Stakes – Randwick Race 8 – 1200m G2

The Group 2 Missile Stakes headlines this week’s card from Randwick as some of the better sprinters resume. Angel Capital is the headline horse here first up off two smart trials. The quality in the field is obvious. A smaller field aids his chances and he gets every possible assist with a sympathetic map.

Gangsta Granny the second elect and one happy to oppose. Looks short enough here, clearly with map advantage, but has to take on the boys and will likely cop early pressure. Midnight Dynamite is interesting stepping back from 1500m to the six. Absolutely flying and boasts race fitness over rivals. Napoleonic and Ninja are ones to keep for another day.

How to Play It: Angel Capital sets up well here and I would assume all systems go with him in wanting to target some better races this Spring. Midnight Dynamite making a small winner.

Loved the way this filly went out with two dominant wins, oozing a bit of style. Resumes here off no public trials in what looks a very winnable benchmark race. Any luck from the draw and I think she’ll be winning.

Good in both runs back and should be set to peak here third up onto the bigger track. Senior rider goes on from the good draw. Good each way bet.
