Wide open edition of the Hawkesbury Gold Cup, which has been transferred from Hawkesbury to Rosehill this year. The race boasts a fairly quality field this year, headlined by the talented Amangiri, who faces six of Chris Waller\u2019s challengers. The Joe Pride trained Archedemus is looking for back-to-back wins in the race.<\/span><\/p>\n

SPEED MAP<\/b><\/h3>\n

Speed should be solid here with both Amangiri and Archedemus set to challenge for the lead in the early stages. Another Dollar might elect to use the inside gate to his advantage and be prominent. Tangled and Royal Celebration draw the widest two barriers and are likely to push forward as well. Manolo Blahniq looks set to be just worse than midfield.<\/span><\/p>\n

KEY RUNNERS<\/b><\/h3>\n

8. AMANGIRI (<\/b>$5.00<\/b><\/a>)<\/b><\/p>\n

Amangiri comes into this third up today and she looks very hard to beat. She put in a strong run resuming, finishing just 1.8L away from Positive Peace at Group 2 level. Last start raced in the Group 1 Queen of the Turf but didn\u2019t make much of an impression. Massive drop in class here.<\/span><\/p>\n

10. ROYAL CELEBRATION (<\/b>$8.00<\/b><\/a>)<\/b><\/p>\n

Comes into this in top form on the back of two consecutive wins in impressive fashion. Was wide rounding the turn last start but was far too strong late, defeating Rainbow Thief, who is a quality horse. Had been racing consistently prior to that and looks in the mix again here.<\/span><\/p>\n

14. MANOLO BLAHNIQ (<\/b>$8.00<\/b><\/a>)<\/b><\/p>\n

Has been racing solidly leading into this and I particularly liked his run last start at Group 3 level when he had to work early from a wide barrier. He put in a tough run for fourth there and can use that as a good launching pad for this. Draws much better today and looks primed to go close.<\/span><\/p>\n

BLUEY\u2019S PICK<\/b><\/h3>\n

8. AMANGIRI (<\/b>$5.00<\/b><\/a>)<\/b><\/p>\n

This race looks wide open, but I\u2019m going with Amangiri, who brings the strongest form into this. She is facing a huge drop in class here today which looks key. She maps to sit in the lead or just outside the leader and should be primed third up for this.<\/span><\/p>\n
