The Dragons head to Cronulla this Sunday to take on the Sharks after picking up their first win of the 2026 NRL season.<\/p>\n

Cronulla Sharks vs St George-Illawarra Dragons<\/h2>\n

St George-Illawarra made headlines when they upset the Broncos last weekend, but it’s Cronulla who have been steadily moving up the NRL ladder.<\/p>\n

The Sharks sit inside the eight now, having won three of their last four, including an excellent victory over the in-form Sea Eagles most recently.<\/p>\n

Outside of last Sunday’s success, the Dragons have been woeful, opening their season with 11 straight losses.<\/p>\n

Leg 1 – Sharks -11.5<\/h3>\n

Cronulla have dominated this head-to-head, winning 10 of the 12 matches they’ve contested this decade.<\/p>\n

Last week’s performance against Manly was one of their best of the season.<\/p>\n

With Briton Nikora back from Origin and Braydon Trindall in strong form, it’s hard to see them not dominating this clash for a comfortable win.<\/p>\n

Leg 2 – Under 52.5 Points Total<\/h3>\n

St George-Illawarra may have scored 30 against Brisbane, but that was their highest score of the season by some margin.<\/p>\n

Prior to that they’d not scored more than 12 points in their last three, averaging just 14.3 points per game all season.<\/p>\n

The Sharks should run in some tries here, but even then, expect this total to fall under the 52.5 mark.<\/p>\n

Leg 3 – Ronaldo Mulitalo to Score<\/h3>\n

Mulitalo is recently back from ACL rehab, but has already made a strong start to his season.<\/p>\n

The Sharks’ winger picked up a double in his first game back against the Bulldogs, then last week had 110 run metres with two tackle breaks.<\/p>\n

Given how leaky the Dragons’ edge defence has been all season, and the way Trindall consistently sets up Cronulla’s attacks down that side, Mulitalo scoring is looking likely.<\/p>\n

Berrell has just four NRL appearances to his name, but will get the most minutes of his career with Blayke Brailey out injured this match.<\/p>\n

The hooker has a reputation for running from dummy half, scoring 17 tries in the NSW Cup over the last four years.<\/p>\n

With the Dragons’ ruck defence being some of the weakest in the competition, he should capitalise from a snipe or two up the middle.<\/p>\n
